Der australische Sender News24 hat ein paar kleine, aber interessante updates zum LearJet-Crash: Authorities reveal chilling details of Florida private jet crash, probe co-pilot Nathalia Filgueiras’ role in horror accident

Ursprünglich hieß es ja, dass eine blonde junge Frau Pilotin war, dann kam aber auf, dass es eine andere war, nämlich Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, die damit bekannt geworden war, dass sie ihre Piloten- (und Jet-?) Lizenz mit 17 und noch vor dem Autoführerschein gemacht hat. Die einen sagen Fördermigrantin, die anderen sagen Naturtalent.

Federal investigators said Monday they are probing the role 20-year-old co-pilot Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras had in the crash of a Learjet that killed nine people.

The doomed $2 million private plane was flying through temperatures of -50 degrees Celsius and started to pick up ice and hit heavy turbulence, authorities said.

The plane began to break up before impact, scattering debris over a half-mile radius.

Das sind also schon vor dem Aufprall Teile abgebrochen. Viele hatten ja schon dem Video angesehen, dass da das Höhenleitwerk zu fehlen scheint.

The plane had requested to climb to around 37,000 feet to avoid foul weather when its crew reported icing and turbulence before it suddenly plunged toward the ground.

“We do have some indication the aircraft was breaking up before impact,” NTSB spokesperson Thomas B Chapman said.

Ja. Das könnte aber einfach eine Folge des steilen Absturzes sein. Letztlich also sagt das einfach fast gar nichts über die Ursache des Absturzes, wenn das Flugzeug beim Absturz auseinandergebrochen ist – aber in welcher Höhe ist es auseinandergebrochen, wenn die Teile im Radius einer halben Meile liegen?

Investigators are still determining whether a black box recorder survived the crash, or was even on the aircraft and recording.

Es ist nicht einmal klar, ob das Ding überhaupt einen Recorder hatte.

Außerdem gab es Gerüchte, dass sie da zusammen mit ihrem Freund im Cockpit gesessen habe, weil im Funkspruch dessen Name zu hören sei.

Among the victims was young co-pilot Filgueiras, who reportedly texted her boyfriend about icing and turbulence shortly before the disaster.

Sie wird im wohl kaum SMS geschrieben haben, wenn er neben ihr saß.
